This weekend, I visited Gothenburg to prepare for my upcoming Easter exhibition. For the first time, I saw the gallery where my work will be displayed: Galleri Engleson, located at Erik Dahlbergsgatan 28. It’s a fantastic spot, close to two of Gothenburg’s most iconic locations: Avenyn and Kungsportsplatsen. The vibrant energy of the area adds a unique charm to the venue.
Planning an exhibition is a journey filled with countless details, big and small. From ensuring the lighting highlights each piece perfectly to deciding on the ideal height for displaying the photos, every choice contributes to the overall experience. One major decision I’m weighing is whether to use glossy or matte photo paper for the prints. Each finish has its unique way of interacting with light and texture, which can significantly impact how the images are perceived.
This weekend marked the first official steps toward bringing this exhibition to life, and I couldn’t be more excited. The vision begins to take shape in the planning stage—where ideas transition from concepts to concrete plans. There’s something truly exhilarating about imagining how everything will come together and anticipating the reactions of those walking through the gallery doors.
Easter may feel far off now, but the countdown has already begun for me. Each decision I make now will shape visitors’ experience when they step into Galleri Engleson next spring.
Stay tuned for more updates as the exhibition unfolds!
